When I passed the 12th class I was very confused about which college to take admission in. I was not able to decide which course would be suitable for me to continue further studies. Some people advised doing B.Sc, some said take admission in engineering college.
Ultimately, without much thought, I decided to take the middle path, "I'll do engineering." I was a science student. At that time taking admission in engineering and BSc was mandatory for every math science student, so I also agreed to walk in this sheep trick.
I had decided to take admission in engineering but still, a dilemma was in my mind. Papa soon came to know about this problem of mine. Papa suggested admission to polytechnic college.
They knew that since childhood I was an average student and engineering studies would be difficult for me and we could not afford the huge engineering college fees. Most of my friends were taking admission in engineering itself, so I had to do the same. Papa explained to me that polytechnic would be the best for me. In this, I will remain an engineering student, the only difference will be that engineering is a 4-year course and polytechnic is 3 years. Bypassing this you will become a diploma engineer
For admission to polytechnic college, one had to clear the PPT exam. My marks in the entrance exam were good, so I got admission to the government college of Ujjain. 14th was the last date to enroll in the college. I had reached the college for admission about 5 days before the last date. Here I had another problem "In which branch should I take admission?"
The elders have said that make your future in whatever work you like. Just I was more interested in the field of computers so I applied for the computer science branch without wasting a single moment. After few days I got admission to the Computer Science branch of Diploma Engineering.
According to my father's advice and due to my interest in computers, I took admission to the computer science branch. Which turned out to be very good for me today. Many companies come to the college campus of Polytechnic, which selects the students according to their merit. I did not want to work in any private company. My goal was to get a government job, so I did not go to any campus. Along with polytechnic, I also had to do a bachelor's course because polytechnic was a diploma course. It is necessary to be a graduate in today's time, so I took private admission to Arts College.
All those students who want to take admission in engineering college I will request that if they are unable to do engineering because of their financial condition, they can also take admission in polytechnic college. There is not much difference between the studies of both the courses. If you have the urge to learn something, you can learn a lot in this diploma course.
